All true apart from the sunny bit. Yet another bank holiday weekend passes in a mire of drizzle and rain. It wasn’t too bad actually since Mari and I got to spend sometime together doing absolutely nothing all weekend. In fact the only time we did get out was Sunday afternoon for a spot of bowling.
Saturday we started by watching a few DVD’s Hermana sent over but had also gone and got a couple ourselves. PS I Love you and Sweeny Todd. So we started of with PS I love as we thought it would be a jolly good laugh but boy were we wrong. OK it was funny but my God we spent most of it in floods of tears to be honest. Guess we can all somehow associate ourselves with the lose of someone close even if we actually haven’t been through it. Weird I know. Worth a watch? Yes definitely but be warned this isn’t a happy go lucky film. Sweeny Todd was next and I really was under whelmed with it to be honest. Don’t get me wrong MR Depp is very good and supported well by the cast but it didn’t rock my boat. Finally it was little Miss Sunshine which was the best of the day to be honest.
Sunday we had invited Brunx and hermanita for brunch, so I was on cooking duty. I love cooking but managed to screw up my eggs but at least everyone else’s was ok… I hope. To my surprise they wanted to watch the F1 grand prix from Monaco which was very exciting for a change as it was wet. Had to feel sorry for the Force India driver (Sutil) who was running in fourth. Yes fourth !! for those not in the know Force India are one of the worst teams. Mainly down to budget (they don’t have the power backers like MacClaren or Ferrari). So they don’t have a great car. Anyway he was up to 4th with a few laps left and then was taken out by an out of control Ferrari. I really felt for him.
Then Mari , brunx and I went bowling which turned out to be eventful. Mari has her own ball donated by my Mum. We were on the lane and then a couple of families started bowling on the lane next to us. So we were sharing the Ball returner and stand. After a few goes I got up to ball and the little girl next to us went with her Mum to choice a ball for her turn. Eyeing up Mari’s nice pink she went for it, to which I politely pointed “Sorry that is her ball” pointing at Mari. To which the Mum in a very arrogant and supercilious tone said “ It is NOT HER BALL it is the HOUSE’s BALL”. To which I replied in a slightly pissed off tone “NO it is actually HER ball”. “In that case she should keep it separate” She retorted. “No” I again replied “ It will stay on the machine”. Stupid French/Portugese women. Anyway we all played crap apart from Brunx.
Monday we had right lazy day. Spent most of it in bed. Then took the two hired back and got Charlie Wilson’s war. This was very good and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Peace

Interesting comment about taking your own bowling balls to a public lane. The wife and I are considering getting our own as we enjoy bowling and it's a bit shit when you can here the ball rattling down the lane. Will have to remember to get something that's blatently not a house ball. A nice skull would do the trick I think!!!
you can get some ace ones from the states. I think they even have sar wars ones. where do you play?
We usually go to the bowling lanes in Wokingham, not much in terms of facilities, but then again it's usually fairly quiet.
Here's the skull one I was talking about.

Wokingham is a very good alley mate. Your right very small but the lanes are very good. That is where we mostly go now. They do have a pro shop and they guy is very good (but very deaf). Maybe we should a game out sometime.
