I just want to go on Holiday !!-

Never count your chickens before they hatch my mother used to say. This has to be a very worthwhile lesson at the moment. Having posted about how stress free the wedding is going, we find ourselves with no Honeymoon and an AWOL DJ with four and a bit weeks to go. Turns out booking internal flights and a hotel is a lot harder in Venezuela then we had thought. Especially if you are outside of the country.

Found this lovely Expedia type website where we typed in all our details and when and where we wanted to travel. Results returned matched our needs. First off I could not book it because I don’t have a Venezuelan ID. Then the LL put in her details and presto it looked like it went through. Booked we thought. Wrong!! We get an email back saying if you really want to book these tickets you need to respond to this email by the date (which had passed). So the LL rang the company to explain that we had only just got the email to be told that she had to fax over her credit card and ID……uuummmmm I think NOT !!! So what was all the put your credit card details in here bit all about then? Now had it been a domestic website I would have given them a right earful and quoted data protection at them, but sadly I fear that means nothing over there.

The same thing is happening for the hotel. I guess we are very lucky in that we have family over there who can sort this out for us, but it is very frustrating. Problem is as it is not a popular destination. You can’t walk into a travel agent and book the trip through them. Well not the main ones anyway. My task today is to try and find out if we can somehow book through a reputable agent in some way.

As for the DJ who knows but the couple who have booked him for the 29th are in a worse position than we are, I think. So we might need to find a new one

I had that issue with my Bottom Cheese World Tour. Couldn't get into Peru with a Paddington Bear badge. Still, all turned out well in the end, as will your wedding and honeymoon.

Love,
Juice.
