It was a weird kind of weekend. All started on Saturday. Mrs H and I got to spend some Quality time together and failed to do anything we planned. We decided that we had had enough of sitting in at weekends and thought a night out would be cool. So we headed for the almighty oracle and made a discovery.
There was an Italian Market in the arena area and while working around we discovered CN has a twin. Now I know generally to other people, children with downs syndrome maybe look the same, but to us CN is unique. However this little girl was the spitting image of CN. Her look, her mannerisms just about everything. I decided to go over and say “Hi” to her mother, since she had caught us staring at her and I didn’t want her to think we were arses. I wondered over and explained that I wasn’t staring and that the girl was CN’s twin.
Have you ever wanted to glimpse into a Parallel universe? You see it is something I believe in. I believe that for every major event in you life and the resulting decision a life line skews off and a parallel event is created. So in this case nearly eleven years ago I decided that I would not be leaving my daughter in hospital, like her Mum wanted, and that we were all going home together. Guess people will judge me on that, but in my heart that was never an option.
So anyone way back to CN’s twin. Turns out the Mother was actually her foster mother and that the little girl had a rough ride in this life but now she was with them she was doing better. I didn’t pry to much as I had only just met them. However it was very surreal moment for me. Makes me glad I had the balls to stand up and be heard when it counted and that there are some truly amazing people out there.
After that we went to book seats to see wanted, and then headed to Chili’s for a very average burger. Then it was back for out showing of wanted.
It was good yearn. Not what I expected. I would stick it on my not to queue for list but worth a watch at the Cinema. Question… why the hell would you go and see a movie where you have to sit right at the front? I mean surely you can’t see fork all. Even worse might be right at the front and in the corner. Luckily as we booked early it was middle, middle for us.
Sunday was Softball and a party. Where we met another little girl with DS.
All in all a good one.
Peace
